Listening is a way of remembering.
Sound has an identity of its own. Every place and every hour leave a different imprint: the first birds before dawn, coquí frogs at nightfall, rain on a zinc roof and waves breaking in the distance.
Puerto Rico’s sonic footprint runs deep. These are sounds that surround us, live in our memories and can bring us back to a place, even when we’re far away.
I’m Jeziel, and Puerto Rico Soundscapes grew from a desire to preserve and share the sounds of our home. With each recording, I try to capture a real moment on the island so you can take it with you, wherever you are.
For those who are here, those who miss it and those who need to hear it again.
